Charles E. Plumb letter, 1864 June 26.

Photocopy of a letter written by Charles E. Plumb from Washington [Conn.?] to his "brother" [William H. Plumb], who he has recently heard was not hurt during the battle of Cold Harbor. He is grateful his brother and other brother, Seth, have thus far escaped unharmed. He also writes about his activities in Washington and health.

Frederick W. Plumb (1801-1877) and Huldah Seymour Landon Plumb (1806-1854) of Litchfield, Conn., had five children: John L. Plumb (1831-1906), Seth F. Plumb (1836-1864), Lemira E. Plumb (1838-1909), William H. Plumb (1840-1916), and Charles E. Plumb (1845-1913). Charles E.
